Hey friends, Seth here from Tribly.
We’ve all been guilty of this.
You spend weeks finishing a song or editing a video. You’re excited. So you hop on social media and post:
"New song out now! Link in bio! Go stream it!"
And then... crickets.
Most of us treat social media like a Megaphone. We stand on a digital stage and shout announcements at the crowd.
But here is the hard truth about 2026: The "Megaphone" era is over.
The algorithms (and your fans) have tuned out the noise. They don't want to be shouted at. They want to be talked with.

📞 The Shift: Broadcasting vs. The Group Chat
Think of the old way as a Billboard (one-way). Think of the new way as a Group Chat (two-way).
Broadcasting is easy, but it’s easy to ignore. Conversation requires effort, but it builds superfans.
The platforms know this. That’s why a post with 50 comments will always get more reach than a post with 500 likes. The algorithm doesn't care about your announcement; it cares about the discussion it creates.
🗣️ The Fix: Stop Announcing, Start Asking
You don’t need to change your art. You just need to tweak your delivery.
Stop closing the loop. Start leaving it open.
❌ The Megaphone Way: "My new demo is finally finished. It's called 'Midnight'. Go listen." (This demands attention but gives nothing in return.)
✅ The Telephone Way: "I can't decide if this new demo needs heavy drums or if I should keep it stripped back. Which vibe do you prefer?" (This invites an opinion. It turns a listener into a collaborator.)
❌ The Megaphone Way: "Go presave my track on Spotify."
✅ The Telephone Way: "I hid a secret message in the second verse of this track. First person to DM me what it is gets a free signed poster."

✨ Why This Matters Right Now
We are seeing a massive shift. Fans are tired of being an "audience." They want to be participants.
If you can shift from "shouting" to "talking," you solve two problems at once: You trick the algorithm into giving you more reach, and you turn passive scrollers into active fans.
We are actually building some new tools to help you create these moments inside Tribly (keep your eyes peeled later this month 👀).
The Challenge: Look at your next post. Don't just drop a link. Ask a question.
Stop shouting. Start talking.
